Halo 3 costumes are popular with fans of the game who wear them for Halloween and for LAN parties. This article discusses not only where to find some Halo 3 costumes but how to make your own.

Most Halo 3 costumes are Master Chief costumes as he is the main character of the Halo series. In the game he’s a blank canvas where people insert their own personalities, so they would naturally want to become him. Halo 3 costumes become an extension of the game.

Exactly what would someone have their Halo 3 costumes look like if they want to be Master Chief?  Fans of the game don’t really have to ask.  Green armor and a face plated helmet are the main elements of Master Chief.  The armor could also be either red or blue, the colors used in the multiplayer game.

Some Halo 3 costumes are under $100 including the helmet. For more detailed collectors costume, which are truer to the in game look of the character, people can pay as much as $1000. People who pay that much often make money portraying Master Chief at trade shows.

There are also home made Halo 3 costumes created by fans. The base element of these is body armor.  They will also often include ammunition pouches as well as hand detailing to make sure the armor looks like it does in the game.  Some people make costumes that look better than the very expensive ones. Many of these handmade Halo 3 costumes can be found on the web pages of various Halo teams such as the 405th infantry division.

There are people who haven’t played Halo 3 who still enjoy Halo 3 costumes. Popular games and entertainment often have fanatics. Fortunately Halo 3 costumes aren’t required to play the games
